Current Limitations
- A typed, drawn, or uploaded signature here is a visual electronic signature, not a certificate-backed digital signature and not proof that a particular person signed.
- XFA forms are not supported for direct field filling; visible text and signature items can still be placed on the rendered pages.
- Editing a document can invalidate an existing certificate signature. Work from an authorized unsigned copy and verify signature status separately.
- Complex calculations, scripts, conditional fields, unusual encodings, and some nonstandard form appearances may not behave like the source application.
- Flattening is irreversible in the exported copy, so keep the source file and inspect the result before relying on it.
Common Questions
Are my PDF and signature uploaded?
No. DocuKit opens the PDF, renders pages, stores the active signature data, writes the result, and verifies the output in your browser. Closing or reloading the tab clears the active workspace.
Is the added signature a digital signature?
No. It is a visible electronic signature mark. Certificate-backed digital signatures use a digital ID to verify identity and document integrity; this tool does not create that cryptographic evidence.
Will existing PDF fields remain editable?
Yes by default for supported standard AcroForm fields. Enable Flatten existing form fields only when you intentionally want those fields converted into permanent, non-editable page content in the exported copy.
Can it fill every PDF form?
No. It supports common standard AcroForm fields. XFA forms, certificate signature fields, JavaScript-driven calculations, and specialized widgets require the software and workflow intended for that document.
